Mission: CET develops and promotes strategies and technologies that make sense for the culture, climate and economy of western Massachusetts and beyond. Together with community members and partners, we are actively: Reducing the amount and toxicity of waste through reuse, recycling, composting and purchasing less toxic products and products made with recycled materials; Conserving energy and promoting renewable energy sources and green building; Increasing environmental awareness in schools, homes, workplaces and communities. CET has two offices and a retail used building materials store in western Massachusetts. In addition, many programs have been expanded or replicated throughout Massachusetts, New England or the nation.

Founded in 1976, CET is a mission driven, community based organization working in rural western Massachusetts. CET is active in the fields of recycling, waste reduction, reuse, energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental education and environmental health. CET works with communities, businesses, individuals and schools. Over the past 30 years CET has provided affordable practical solutions to live our lives with less impact on the environment.
