California Family Health Council Overview
Programs: CFHC serves as the Title X Basic Contraceptive Services grantee in California and administers funds to support low-cost family planning services through a network of 76 diverse health care programs that operate more than 300 community clinics and health centers. Through this program CFHC supports the delivery of healthcare services to nearly 1 million clients each year. To support this network of providers, the organization provides training, education and technical assistance. CFHC informs family planning service providers and clients about Title X standards and guidelines and conducts monitoring and compliance activities. In addition, CFHC develops and disseminates provider and client health education information and resources. CFHC's public policy activities are designed to build understanding and awareness of the importance of family planning and related health issues. CFHC plans, conducts and disseminates clinical research on contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and related reproductive health and family planning issues. Findings help frame the development of products and programs to increase the effectiveness and frequency of contraceptive use and guide the development of strategies for improving family planning and reproductive health.
