Bread and Water for Africa (BWA) is a small organization that helps the poor and the disadvantaged people in some African countries. The programs are important and very much needed. BWA runs it's programs effectively
and efficiently by local staffs without opening expensive
offices and posting staffs from USA. I believe some of the NEWS should follow it as an example so as to be effective like BWA.

I can’t stand for the suffering of children. I’ve seen too much of it all over, especially in those commercials, it makes me so angry. Knowing that the people at bread and water focus on caring for so many orphans over in Africa makes me proud.

I have worked with BWA and have met many of their overseas staff.
without fail they are all dedicated and hard working. The programs they
so proudly work for succeed, because of the staff and their labor. I can
say that BWA works very hard to find partners and programs that will
become independent and self reliant. I wish them well . Dave

I have been supporting Bread and Water for Africa for years now, and I love their mission. The fact that they help people help themselves is exactly what I think needs to be done by non-profits. If you make a group dependent on you how are they supposed to make a real difference down the road? That is why I support Bread and Water for Africa’s programs, because I agree with their mission of making groups self-reliant rather than dependent on foreign aid forever.

BWA is a very passionate charity committed to helping Africa's most vulnerable...children. I've worked directly and indirectly with BWA. I've seen first-hand how hard they work to help support the needs of the children in Africa by providing food, school supplies, education, health care, clean water which are some of the services they provide. BWA also helps women and men by teaching and given them the tools to learn some type of trade, such as agriculture, sewing, and bakery which can help them earn money to support their families. I invite everyone to visit their website (www.africanrelief.org) and read more about their programs. I'm very impressed by the work they do!

The Children of the Lewa Children's Home (orphanage) have benefited from the support of Bread and Water for Africa for many years. Through the help of BWA the Lewa Children's Home was able to provide them not only with love, care, protection and shelter but the nursery and primary school, Kipkeino School, being part of the Home gave them an excellent preparation for the rest of their life. Thank you on behalf of all the children. BWA has changed their life and gave them a future.

Bread and Water for Africa has been dedicated for more then 30 years to help orphaned, abandoned and needy children in the Kenyan society. BWA provided medical care, clothing and school materials but did not just provide food... Instead BWA helped to develop a large scale farming enterprise which grows food for the children and processes milk into yoghurt, butter milk and cheese which is sold all over Kenya to generate income for the Home. The Baraka Farm is that way has been an example to many thousands of visitors, farmers, students and other charitable organization in the past. Adjacent to the Baraka Farm, BWA helped to build a nursery and primary school know as Kipkeino School which has educated children from the Lewa Children's Home since 2000 and many more to come in the future

BWA helped through Baraka Farm more then 1000 small holder farmers over the past years. Many thousands farmers from the East African region visited and over 250 farmers have been trained during a weeks stay at Baraka Farm in the past 2 years.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The Baraka Farm supports not only the Lewa Children's Home but it has been an example to thousands of farmers over the years who have copied its ideas of climate change preparedness like rainwater harvesting, improving crop yield through improved soil fertility. I would continue to support Baraka Farm for them to be able to keep on being an example in sustainable farming and helping the Children of the Lewa Children's Home (orphanage)
