Mission: To prepare young people throughout the mid-south to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the scout oath and law.
Programs: The scoutreach program provides opportunities for disadvantaged youth to experience the boy scout program. There were over 400 young men in the scoutreach programs during the 2014 year. Fees are waived for these youths and personnel are hired when no volunteers are available to guide these youths through the program. The council provides year round scouting programs in 14 different schools. No boy is denied due to financial hardship. Summer programs are available to young people who would otherwise not have a summer activity.
summer camp is operated at our kia kima scout reservation near hardy, arkansas. Summer camp saw over 2,500 participants in 2014. Thousands of merit badges were awarded. Over 300 scouts and volunteers attended winter camp at kia kima.
high adventure activities including the national jamboree, philmont, and the florida sea base. Camp cards, popcorn sales and parents help fund these activities.
