Bay Institute of San Francisco Overview
Programs: The Bay Institute's programs include:
Students and Teachers Restoring A Watershed (STRAW) - A Project of The Bay Institute and the Center for Ecoliteracy. The STRAW Project coordinates and sustains a network of teachers, students, community members and restoration specialists as they plan and implement watershed studies and restoration projects in Marin and Sonoma counties.
The San Pablo Bay Watershed Restoration Program (SPBWRP) - The purpose of the SPBWRP is to promote revitalization of the watershed's wetlands, rivers, lakes and streams, and to improve the health of San Pablo Bay itself.
The Rivers and Delta Program - Through the Rivers and Delta program, TBI promotes restoration of endangered species and environments in the upper reaches of the Bay/Delta estuary, from the major rivers of the Sierra to the Delta and Suisun Bay, by designing and supporting efforts to increase freshwater flows throughout the estuary, expand Central Valley wetland and floodplain habitats, and reverse water quality degradation from agriculture and other sources.
