I was provided the opportunity to take a tour of the facility and was very impressed by the staff, classrooms and the children. Although they only offer early childhood services for children up to 5 years old, all of the Teachers are certified to teach K-3. Many of the Teachers (if not all) are bilingual which is great considering the students are all from diverse families. Each classroom is named after Ivy League and local Universities (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Montclair State University, etc.) and is set up from the student's perspective. There are security cameras in each room with one way viewing windows to each classroom for the parents to view their child without interrupting the classroom. And, finally, the children were so well behaved when walking the halls and very responsive to the Teachers. Overall, I had never seen such a well run early childhood center.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
...2010 when I had the pleasure of attending one of the student's holiday performances. I was so impressed by the student's presentations about cultures from around the world. And, I was even more impressed to see the parents fill the auditorium.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the beautiful facility. The evironment is one that the children can be proud to visit on a daily basis.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
all pleasant and personable with infectious personalities.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
open more schools in low social economic neighborhoods where needed.
