Mission: Authentic community theatre, inc. Exists to both explore and encourage the application of the performing arts as a catalyst toward responsible social change and enhanced community cohesion.
Programs: The summer institute for the arts includes 3 week-long educational summer camps that use drama, arts, music and movement to build knowledge, skills, character and self-worth in students ages 6-18. Included were 2 weeks of art camps and 1 week of music and movement.
storytelling: storytelling included multiple performances (all free) in parks and libraries across washington county during the summer of 2013. The performers (storytellers) were instrumental in encouraging summer reading programs.
variety show: act's variety show was an opportunity for performance groups all over the county to come together for a one-night performance. About 20 acts performed to a sold-out auditorium.
school support: act offers costume rentals and technical expertise to local schools for their own productions.
act, jr. Is a theatre arts program for children in grades k-8 focused on a well-rounded performing arts education that includes proper techniques as well as participating in performance opportunities. Included are group acting, voice and dance classes, as well as two full theater productions per year.
act's homeschool arts program is a fun, interactive way for homeschooled children to experience various aspects of the arts by participating in group classes that introduce specific art forms and encourage students to improve their techniques and creative skills.
target grant: 5 performances at various libraries and one school for over 200 people.
all-community production of annie, the musical. Involved 60+ local actors, musicians, stagehands, costumers and technical crew. Performed 4 shows to over 1400 people.
