The auburn alumni association has a primary objective the creation, nurturing and strengthening of the ties between auburn university and its alumni and friends. We seek to foster a sense of identification with, allegiance to and pride in their connection with auburn university that over the years will result in interest in its continued greatness. We do this in a variety of ways. We sponsor programs to encourage their return to the physical campus. We host functions, such as tailgates at away football games and tours for groups of alumni and friends that foster a sense of belonging to the "family" of auburn university. We send members a quarterly magazine that keeps them informed about matters concerning the university and the alumni community, such as information on prominent and successful individuals with auburn ties. Our success is evident in that based on participation statistics we have one of the top alumni programs in the country.

Auburn magazine - established in 1993 upon discontinuance of the alumnews newspaper. Since that time it has won numerous awards. It provides a vehicle to enhance the relationship between the university and its alumni and friends and fosters a sense of identity as an "auburn person. " quarterly issues are mailed to all association members. Each issue is mailed to approximately 35,700 alumni and friends.

the auburn club program provides support to 92 individual auburn clubs nationwide representing over 38,000 active members. Representatives of the office of alumni affairs attend and accompany speakers from academic, development, and athletic programs at more than 71 annual meetings. The club program hosts an annual club leadership conference in which incoming officers and club leaders gain knowledge of the activities of the association and university, obtain training and skills in management of the local club, and share ideas with each other about activities at the local club level instituted for the university's benefit. Local clubs are responsible for raising funds for 125 scholarships annually.
