Mission: Crew-miami is a commercial real estate association dedicated to provide a forum for professionals actively involved in the commercial real estate industry, to promote professional interaction, ethics and integrity, to provide educational opportunities, to expand centers of influence of its members, and to utilize a support network.
Programs: Crew network held its annual national convention in miami in 2014. This was the second time miami has been the host city for the convention; the last time was over two decades ago. Over 100 crew-miami membrs were in attendance and many more worked as volunteers assisting in setup, programming, educational tours, information booths, dine arounds and other events in this three day convention. There were over 1200 total attendees from accross the country to hear speakers such as hillary rodham clinton, katty kay and steve forbes, among many others,
speakers were provided at all of the monthly luncheons in 2014. The first program speaker of 2014 was the insightful and much anticipated state of real estate report by nationally known economist, hugh f. Kelly. This set the stage for the rest of the year with programs that touch on most, if not all of the topics that interest our members and guests. From legal trends to design innovation, our programs are planned far in advance to ensure top notch speakers and publicity. Approximate attendance was 1345 during 2014.
crew annual fishing tournament: held at the coral reef yacht club, provides an opportunity for any and all interested in fishing, real estate or supporting scholarships and crew-miami, the opportunity to spend quality time recreating and networking. There were 60 anglers and 44 site seeing attendees. Of the net proceeds, 6,050 was set aside for crew-miami scholarship fund of which all was awarded/distributed to scholarship winners in 2014. The donation expands crew-miami's center of influence of its memebers and provides educational opportunities to qualified candidates entering the rel estate industry.
crew-miami held the first annual crew-careers winter program at the offices of bilzin sumberg where eight crew-miami members participated on a panel on different aspects of commerical real estate deals and opportunities for women in this field. 28 seniors from the young women's preparatory academy benefitted from this discussion. Six crew members participated in a women's symposium held at a magnet school to make classroom presentations of various professional careers in real estate and to share mentoring experiences. 150 girls benefitted from learning about opportunities open to women in the commercial real estate field.
