Andona is a wonderful organization comprised of dedicated and committed women who truly care about making a difference to the youth of Andover and the surrounding area. All of their programs and events are thoughtful and well planned. The big fundraiser, "Clown Town" is not just a fundraiser but a true can't miss beginning of summer event in the town. I don't know the exact percentage, but unlike many "non-profits" that raise money to fund their own operations, close to 100% of the funds raised are directly reinvested in programs that directly serve the students on Andover or in scholarships.
Andona is a nonprofit, volunteer women’s organization that was established in 1952 by a group that wanted to raise money for programs that helped the children of our community learn, grow, and achieve.
On average we raise over $50,000 per year and give that money back to the youth of Andover. Our contributions include over $15,000 in financial assistance to children of low-income families so that those children can go to summer camp. We award five $2,000 college scholarships to graduating Andover seniors who have excelled in academics, extra-curricular, work commitments and most importantly, community service. We also donate $25,000 per year to sustain and enhance educational, cultural and athletic programs. Andona also supports developing leadership qualities in our children. We offer a babysitting program for Andover Middle Schoolers as well as volunteer opportunities for our High Schoolers so they may give back to the community.
Our major fundraiser, Clown Town, is the 3rd week in May each year.
