I am a volunteer for the American Cancer Society's California Division. Working with this organization for 13 years, I am impressed by their commitment to the mission of fighting cancer. They are a community based organization relying greatly on their volunteers in all aspects of their programs. The partnerships between staff and volunteers seems unique to me in all the volunteer work I have done. I feel appreciated for my efforts and time.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the programs to help patients fighting cancer.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
find a way to raise more money for research.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the unique staff/volunteer partnerships.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
wonderful and caring people. I have made many lifelong friends through my association with the American Cancer Society.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
fund more research to fight cancer.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time to get involved with more programs provided by the American Cancer Society.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the current economic climate.
One thing I'd also say is that...
the American Cancer Society is the largest grantor of funds for cancer research outside the US government.
