Like others, I donated to Feeding America in December and have since been flooded with spam emails and junk mail from other organizations that they apparently sold my info to. Feeding America will never get another penny from me and neither will any of the other organizations that are soliciting me.

This charity is so annoying! I have been getting non-stop phone calls from "IL number"- I had NINE in one day, starting at 8:15 AM on Saturday for goodness' sake, and sometimes lasting until after 9PM! Thank God I have a phone blocker function on my phone. Now I'm getting unsolicited emails from these people. We donate to charity every year, all year, and these stupid, constant, unsolicited emails and phone calls do nothing other than anger me. They may do good work, but they're making no headway with our household. I feel like we're being stalked.

Here's an idea for those who are tired of getting junk mail: see if you can donate through a Coinstar machine at your local grocery store. There's no fee, you don't have to give any information, and you can still donate. Perfect!

Like many other donors I checked to see how much money was distributed to the needy before making donations. They were in the 90 percentile. Thus we gave.
Since then we have been inundated with unsolicited requests that have been all but impossible to cut off.
I've called and written Feeding America and found they shared (sold?) our information to scores of organizations. Regardless of our attempt to stop these mailings have fallen on deaf ears. We will NEVER contribute to FA again nor will we respond to any of these other requests.

I donate every year at Christmas to a charitable organization. Last year I chose Feeding America. Since then, I have been flooded with junk mail from every organization around -- usually about 3 a day. I have never had my information distributed like this by a charity, and I would encourage you to donate elsewhere. This was such a disappointing experience. I have donated to Charity Water and Heifer International among others in the past and have never had my information sold. Really appalling abuse of supporters' generosity.

I donated $50.00 dollars during Christmas. Thinking this would be nice and help. Now I have endless junk mail coming in from Feeding America and all the other companies that want money donations that Feeding America sold, rented and/or shared with them. After a couple weeks of junk mail almost daily, I contacted Feeding America and they said they would remove me from their list and stop renting, selling name and address. Well almost four months later I am still receiving JUNK mail for all kinds of request for donations from other companies and still from Feeding America.
I WILL NEVER FROM THIS DAY FORWARD DONATE TO ANY COMPANY!

Thanks FEEDING AMERICA for screwing up my mail. If you want ENDLESS JUNK MAIL just donate to Feeding America!

Feeding America matches my donations between 5X and 17X with corporate funds. Last year I put $850 into the program with a $50 donation. You can't do that anywhere else, that I know of.

Secondly, the accusations here about their use of donation money is shamefully incorrect. CHARITY NAVIGATOR, one of the world's most respected charity assessors gives Feeding America an A for their use of donation revenue, and shows clearly on their website where every donation penny goes
( http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=6584 ).

Thirdly, rating someone one or two stars because you receive a couple mailing a week from them? News flash: ALL CHARITIES DO THAT because in the longrun it pays to do so. Printing, die-cutting and distribution only costs about 2 cents when mailers are ordered by the hundreds of thousands. Mr. printshop man should know that. FUNDRAISING EXPENSES ARE 2.3% of their revenue
( http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=6584 )

Fourthly, Feeding America's ENTIRE ADMINISTRATIVE COST IS 1.8% of their revenue.

That's at least six low reviews disproved. You people need to calm down and do your homework before (1) believing everything you hear, and (2) coming here and falsely slandering a charity that gives away more than 37 million meals a year.

I am a very low income 65 year old lady, with a disability .
I was denied services and food by these people.
This is a fraudulent tax free organization that takes donations but does not do what they claim they do.
My son went their to pick up groceries for me. He was given 5 items in a grocery bag that I cannot eat. 1 box of pop tarts, 3 cans of soup, of bottle of grapefruit juice.
According to their website I am supposed to receive a 'senior pak' that is a 20 lb. bag of groceries twice a month. while exiting their parking lot, my son witnessed 2 Hispanic families having their cars loaded up with 2 carts filled with groceries.
They will gladly accept your hard earned money for their living expenses however.
Give to a non fraudulent organization instead.

Feeding America sold my address and as a result I receive an obscene amount of charity junk mail. As a result of supporting your organization I will need to spend time and money to stop all of the unwanted mail. Feeding America obviously does not care about the harm that they do to those who support them.

The following is an email I sent Feeding America.
I want to be removed from your phone, mailing and emailing lists. We used to donate regularly but couldn't take the deluge after donations. I broke my vow and donated twice recently - requesting no contact - this Christmas - NEVER AGAIN! Wouldn't you be able to use more of my donations to feed people if you weren't using them to harass me? I am a regular donor to places that don't disturb me - your charity is bar none - the worst I have ever seen for this.
