Land protection through conservation easements
Land conservation: own 12 acres of allegheny river front property along the allegheny valley trails assoc. Bike trail to protect it from development. This opens up about 4000 ft of river front for public use. A canoe/ kayak launch was constructed in 2012. Improved river accessin 2014 (12 acres) site monitored in 2014
land conservation: accepted donation of easement along french creek in french creek township within 1 mile of other easement for habitat conservation and non-development, open to public. Easement recorded december 28, 2008. (165 acres) expenses paid in 2009. Making plans for recreational uses. Site monitored in 2014
land conservation: working with the allegheny valley trails association to reclaim the mill creek riparian corridor at the confluence with the allegheny river. Construction of an adirondack shelter on the river side if the bike trail in 2013.
