I had never been to any summer camp before. I am an adult and some of the staff asked if I wanted to be a counselor. I am so glad I said yes. I am hooked. The kids are great. The staff is attentive and obviously adore the kids. There must be something that really works about bringing people of such diverse backgrounds together because so many keep coming back.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching a couple of the campers who looked like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders at the beginning of the week look more like, well, like kids at the end of camp.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that there is such an intense focus on showing the kids that they are valued.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated to making sure the kids had fun and were safe.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

I have been working with this camp since I was 16 years old. I am now 24 and living in Germany and still found a way to make it back to help out. My experience this year and in years past is one full of professional growth by way of mentorship and personal joy as I've had the ability to really make a difference in the lives of young and older people. Each year brings new staff and different kids, but the goal has never been anything but ensuring everyone is safe and having fun!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

That they staff and many of the children after they grow up and are old enough keep coming back year-after-year. It has created a summer family that is always welcoming and loving.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Some of the best people in the world. Hard working, always motivated, loving, and all working for free.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Allow more campers while at the same time make sure that it will be around for many more years.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

What an amazingly diverse group of children! The fabulous volunteers work hard and creatively and very well to bring an experience of community to a racially and economically diverse group of children.

All God's Children Camp is a fun welcoming community. Like a little slice of heaven, all are welcome from age 7 to age 99, we are all family for one week and its an old school way to teach the art of living. Wake up early, dinner with camp family, sign up for new activity, learn something new! One of the noted successes is sending kids to begin the academic year two weeks after camp, having just learned to swim, fish or jump off a zipline! Splendid growth spurts occur for all of us! Been on staff for 20 years and still wishing life was more like camp! Our challenge is to make it so.
