AIDS Law of La is a critical point of entry for us clients into the Ryan White [RWCA] system of care. It prepared documentation for my eligibility for RWCA which was necessary when I lost health insurance after being diagnosed with AIDS. Later, it handled my application for Social Security Disability [SSDI] so thoroughly that I was approved in two, count em, two weeks. Not an easy feat!!

Additional to my review, the staff of ALL was compassionate, professional and instrumental in the ability for me to access HIV services. With its assistance and skills, AIDS Law prepared me for my journey to improve my health and mental health outcomes.

AIDSLaw of Louisiana fills a unique legal niche in Louisiana by providing varied legal services to individuals living with HIV and AIDS in Louisiana. The staff possess special legalized knowledge in areas such as public benefits, housing discrimination, employment matters, and estate planning. I've been honored to play a role in an organization that strives to help those people struggling with the medical and financial effects of this terrible disease.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Hearing success stories from clients who have obtained Social Security benefits.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the feeling of giving back to the community. Also, I've enjoyed meeting new people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

highly respected in the community.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

own its own building, provide a wider range of legal services, and set up a significant endowment to ensure its viability for the future.
