African Child Care Association in existence since 2000 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, grew out of the need to educate the people of Africa about HIV/AIDS and its impact on children. With major projects in Cameroon, Burkina Faso, and Uganda, ACCAINC is committed to spreading the message that HIV/AIDS can be prevented. The organization does that by educating children and young people in safe sex methods and about the nature of the disease, and by directly helping the Most Vulnerable Children find food, shelter, clothing and safety.Beginning in 2000 with an office in Yaoundé, Cameroon, ACCAINC has disseminated HIV/AIDS throughout the region. Served by people who live in the regions in which it functions, ACCAINC operates on a lean budget to provide the maximum amount of service for minimum expense. Financial support for the organization has come primarily from donations and grants.Knowing that HIV/AIDS is an epidemic that must be fought on many fronts (ignorance, poverty, illiteracy, etc), ACCAINC is delivering information about the disease using effective, easily understood methods, in the regional vernacular.
