Programs: We conduct workshops at the Freeport Memorial Library once a month, for at least 30 people per session; and consultat at the African American Museum on Saturdays, for at least 5 people each week. We co-sponsor 2 major genealogical seminars each year, serving about 1,200 people. And we present major educational/historical programs at the African American Muesum of Nassau County several times a year serving about 1,000 people. Our museum and library events serve a majority under-served, African American community. The seminars serve an integrated population of various ethnic, economic and educational backgrounds.

Teaching genealogy, we help our clients develop and enhance reading, writing and research skills, while discovering their heritage and culture. We help families bridge the gap between young and old and lay the foundation of self-esteem through self-knowledge. We also contribute to the body of genealogical/historic work by transcribing and indexing data.
