So the day we’ve all been waiting for is here! #GivingTuesday – a national movement and brainchild of the 92nd Street Y– The idea is to create a daylong national effort to help charities raise money online during the holiday season – and right on the heals of Cyber Monday and Black Friday. We’ve been preparing for months. But what do you do when the day is here? Here are tips depending on who you are!

GreatNonprofits Publishes 2013 Top-Rated Charity List
This Season of Giving when most Americans donate and volunteer for nonprofits, GreatNonprofits, the largest nonprofit review site (like a Yelp for Nonprofits) announces the 2013 GreatNonprofits Top-Rated List. Over 1,400 nonprofits ranging from national nonprofits to local nonprofits are on the list. In 2013, an expected $375 billion is expected to be donated to nonprofits. The holiday season is quickly approaching and soon we’ll be finding ourselves caught up in the shopping madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. GreatNonprofits.org is excited to be teaming up today with Giving Tuesday, a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season.
GreatNonprofits is championing local giving this 2012 holiday season with Giving Tuesday and encouraging donors and volunteers to take advantage of the site to find local organizations worthy of support.
