Mission:
OYC's Mission is to provide a cross-cultural music education and performance program fostering talent, confidence, and community. Results:
OYC's middle school and high school age Concert Chorus is an award-winning group that has won major national awards at the Heritage Music Festivals several years running, and has sung and performed at community events all over the Bay Area. For the 2011-2012 season, in addition to OYC's annual winter and spring choral concerts, they performed at various holiday gigs around the East Bay, joined Lynne Morrow and Oakland East Bay Symphony Chorus in a performance of Carmina Burana at The Paramount, and traveled to Santa Cruz for Music in the Parks Festival, where they won First Place in our category and the esteemed Espiritu Award.

Over 500 elementary school children participated in OYC's All-City and school-based Miracle Choruses in Oakland and Alameda last season. They performed with Mr. Steve of PBS Kids in the Oakland Holiday Parade, performed at Rhythmix Cultural Works' 5th anniversary celebration in Alameda, and wowed the audience at OYC's two annual concerts.
