HOMELESS EMERGENCY PROJECT INC Overview
HEP is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Since 1986, our Mission has been to provide homeless and very low-income individuals and families with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.
In 2013, HEP served 1,397 people, including 76 families, 126 children and 508 veterans. In our commercial-grade kitchen and dining hall, we served 95,091 nutritious meals. There were 34 children enrolled in HEP's Children's Learning Center after school and summer camp programs. The HEP Dental Clinic provided an astonishing 3,993 procedures valued at $525,066. Through a strategic community partnership with the Morton Plant Outreach Team (MPOT), we provided 755 clinical assessments, with 6,306 patient contacts. HEP's partnership with MPOT saved $1,863,617 in avoidable emergency room visits. HEP also provided 3,592 veteran transports to Bay Pines VA.
