Join Women’s Project as an Intern – 2010!
Women’s Project, the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit theater company dedicated to producing and promoting theater created by women, is seeking interns at least two days a week (hours are flexible), starting immediately. The internships are based in Manhattan.
Artistic Intern
We are looking for a few good interns to read and report on the many, fascinating plays that are submitted to Women’s Project. Artistic interns also assist our Associate Artistic Director with general clerical duties, organization, and special events planning.
You will also be expected to attend various shows, workshops, and readings around town. We need self-starting, detail oriented, go-getters who are fun, can juggle several tasks, can juggle, and keep their sense of humor no matter what. If you are looking to learn about the inner-workings of a non-profit theater, especially the literary department, this is the internship for you. You must commit to 15-20 hours per week from September through May.

Communications Intern
Communications interns will assist the Marketing Director and Grant Manager with all current marketing communications activity for our mainstage season, event calendar and other programs. There will be the opportunity to manage small projects, under the direction of the Marketing Director or Grant Manager. Attention to detail, the ability to self-motivate, collaborate, and maintain a sense of humor is a must!
Candidates should have excellent verbal, written and organizational skills plus computer fluency in MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with the internet, a plus. The position is unpaid but is a rare opportunity to gain experience in non-profit theater. A professional reference will be provided.
