I was in a pickle. I had rescued a little orange cat that was "nobody's cat" on Facebook. He was left begging on people doors for food & shelter. It was so sad. And to make matters worse - it was the beginning of winter in North Dakota. This kitty would have certainly died if no one rescued it. So - I had no choice but to get this little kitty and provide some shelter & food. But the problem is I already have cats I rescued and also pet dogs. The only place I had for this for this little kitty was a spare storage room. I could not put this little orange kitty with the other cats because as the new cat on the block- the other cats would fight him.
So - I called all shelters & rescues - but nothing. This poor kitty was so lonely - even though I would visit - but he just meow & cry all the time.
Then to make matters worse - as I was going to church on a cold snowy December day - I saw a little white & gray kitty eating crackers (that were left the birds) & crab apples (that had fallen from a crab apple tree?) underneath the statue of St. Joseph. It was pitiful. Again - there was no way I was going to leave that little soul out in the North Dakota cold & snow. She was so cold and desperate she let me get close, pick her up, put her in the car and take her home.
So now I am two cats over. But worse than that - I have no where to put her in the house without the dogs chasing her or keeping her away from other cats. The only space left was to roam the basement- not ideal. Also - she was not very friendly- so not very adoptable.
I called the county animal rescue and surrounding shelters. Nothing.
But - I called ARRR and they saved me!! Even though they were not taking any new cats - they could not turn their heads away from my situation. They offered to help me and they offered to take the friendly ginger kitty - the most adoptable. And he turned out he the kitty that would hug all the staff at ARRR. He just would not let them go. And thanks to ARRR - this story has a happy for both kitties. The little ginger kitty was adopted by a another ginger haired boy - and it is so sweet. He now has a home where he will get lots of love and hugs & never will be lonely!
The kitty I found by the church - now has a forever home with me - and she has turned out to be a little sweetie with an attitude - once she learned she had a home, was safe with me, always had a full bowl of food and warm place to sleep. I ended up I named her Little Missy because she still is a little scrappy from being out on the street.
Below - the first picture is a picture of the two gingers - you can see the little ginger kitty is hugging his new human.
The second picture is Lil Missy.
ARRR really saved us that day - and has helped this lost little kitty to find a loving happy home.

I wish every county in every state could have an ARRR ranch. They work so hard and care and it tough for them sometimes because it tough to have a heart in a heartless world. They are all heart!
