Requested to see a cat Dolly on the 10th of November. We said we would come in on the 11th to get her because we couldn't believe how perfect she fit what we were looking for. We were told that the cats got sick and that the shelter was shut down until the 18th. The wife and I have work until the 19th so we couldn't see her until the 20th. We asked to give a deposit, we said we could take PTO, we needed to have this cat. They told us no need they don't take deposits and they would hold her for us until the 20th "no worries no one will see her until you do" (quote from an email to us). We scheduled an appointment for the 20th. We got a call on the 16th, that our cat was adopted out and there was nothing we could do. Through talking with volunteers at the rescue we made it up to the director, who took 4 hours to call us back before telling us there's nothing we can do it's a "done deal because they signed a contract" and that the rescue opened up early and that's why she got adopted out. After explaining to her that in the state of CT verbal and written agreements for services or products is contractility binding, and therefore she BROKE our contract by not letting us see her Sunday, she asked "what should I do then". We asked her to call the family and admit your mistake, tell them they need to bring the cat back and that they can have any other cat for free because that cat belongs to us. Even though it was only 8:30 she said she would call in the morning. It is now 1pm the following day and she has not responded to any of the two messages my wife has sent her this morning. We've known about this cat for a week and someone just swoops in and takes her when we could have had her but this place told us "it's fine we'll hold her". Then the director doesn't have the common decency to admit a mistake and does nothing but try and cover it up. Incredibly unprofessional and ridiculous. If you for some reason want a cat from here, just go in and pick one you can have any one you like apparently. Don't bother looking online and falling in love they don't give a crap enough to hold anything for you.

Follow up: the director responded to us and told us "the cat was adopted end of story", like we were the ones inconveniencing her. Didn't even bother to call or ask about the cat and tried to ghost us until we blew up her phone. Responded in a text instead of calling. 0 accountability or professionalism top to bottom at this place. Go elsewhere there's plenty of other shelters.

Actually, I'm a client who was NOT served. This is an organization that places the pets of military service members in temporary foster homes during deployment: a rare & much-needed service. The website lists impressive credentials & has a thorough application form. I filled it out & when I received no reply for a/b 3 weeks, I called. I was told there had been a computer crash & dozens of applications had been lost. I would need to re-apply. I did, but I also asked if there would be enough time to place our pets as deployment was now a/b 1 month away. The man who runs the group assured me it was no problem. He is extremely distracted & very, very, chatty but clearly loves animals & seems to really love what he does. After I did not receive the e-mail he'd told me to expect re: Power Of Attorney, I e-mailed him to request an update. No reply. I called again. He told me that they'd found us a foster home! I was irritated that we hadn't been informed, but still relieved. He said he thought he'd sent me the e-mail but must have forgotten so he would send it right away. I did not receive the e-mail. With just over one week before deployment, I called him AGAIN to inquire about it. He seemed to think I was silly for worrying about it so much & assured me I'd have it by the following morning so it could be notarized & mailed back to him at the start of the work week. He couldn't give me the foster family's contact info until he received the notarized form back. I was very stressed by this point knowing that we had so little time for the paper to get across the country & then I'd have only one weekend to get my animals to this foster family. There would be no time to meet them in advance like I'd wanted. Guess what? HE DIDN'T SEND THE FORM! By an amazing stroke of luck, a new acquaintance has offered to care for my pets at the last minute. If not for that, I would be totally screwed thanks to this man at NetPets! I'm so disappointed in their service & frankly, pissed off. Military families need a service like this & when someone promises that their pets will be taken care of, it's NOT right to leave them hanging last minute. There's no way to put off deployment & people could be left with no options & even have to resort to giving their pets up!!! I hope that this was an isolated case but I have found no other reviews of this organization online & if they have fostered as many pets as they claim, it seems odd that no one is spreading the word since like I said, this is a very rare service. In my opinion, BEWARE & DO NOT rely on this group unless you have a secure backup plan.
