He listened to me, what we wanted and made great recommendations on how we can best plan for the future. I volunteered here for 6 years, and I witnessed the incredible transformation of so many behaviorally challenged dogs to become adoptable and happy dogs! The staff and volunteers KNOW what a truly amazing shelter LHS is! I also adopted 3 dogs from them, and why I had to step away as a volunteer! My husband said I had to leave before I adopt more dogs??????. I am still a foster though!

When Garrett and John Reed approached me about having a larger role in the nonprofit that Nancy and I founded almost 20 years ago, we were excited at the prospect. The timing of their retirements and the aging out of Nancy and I were a happy coincidence. Nancy and I were in their position 20 years ago when we decided to retire and also make a difference with the rest of our lives. We hope this legacy lives on with them and within others as long as the families in Guatemala are in need and young teachers are willing to prepare them to do what their parents can’t do, prepare children for success in school. Their passion for the cause of supporting young women and men and Guatemala so they can use their talents to make a difference in their communities, is just we were looking for. <br> <br>Together John and Garrett are clearly qualified for the role they’ve taken. Their experience and love for teaching, lifelong passion for travel, fluency in the Spanish language, and willingness to engage with people they have never met and do not share their background, virtually assures them of success. They see along with us the opportunity to seize the mantle of leadership, not only to maintain the investment that’s been made in Guatemala, but also to grow Let’s Be Ready in the future.<br>

I was not aware of the Colorado Horse Rescue until I looked for a volunteer opportunity to help horses. I have volunteered for many organizations over the past couple of decades, and I would rate CHR at the top. Everything we do always puts the welfare of these rescued horses as the top priority. I have seen horses come to this rescue that who been badly treated, are emaciated, and recently saved from being auctioned to be sent to countries where horse meat is legal. Along with the care and the love these horses receive from day one, the systems and practices that CHR strictly follows change these horses on the verge of being destroyed to being healthy, confident, and vibrant, ready to go to their forever homes.

Peopleweaver sponsors women and girls by providing education sponsorships, an adult school and micro-finance loans. PW works in the Kyangwali refugee settlement and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I have witnessed first-hand the success of their projects. Recently the first girl who received a university sponsorship graduated.

Come to Vermont, Can'd Aid. I love working with Can'd Aid and volunteer whenever I get the chance. I've volunteered at a skateboard build and at an art kitting event where the supplies and decorated bags went to children in Foster Care. I'm looking forward to volunteering in the future. I have been supporting Medicine Horse and volunteering with them for several years. They are very organized, welcoming, and run high-quality therapy programs. Medicine Horse knows what it is good at and excels at serving the community. They help a diverse group of people. Their farm is is well cared for and a fun place to volunteer.

Skyline Longmont Kiwanis Foundation (SLKF) is a fantastic 501 (c3) organization that contributes thousands of dollars every month to the Longmont community in need. SLKF was founded in 1978 with over 40 years of service to the community. SLKF is closely aligned with the values and mission of Kiwanis International, service and assistance to those in need, and support for worthy causes. Many of these causes involve members personal time and effort, and that is the club’s preferred vehicle of support. Mwebaza is an educational partnership between schools here in Colorado and in Uganda. I have had the privilege of working alongside exceptional men and women who are dedicated to creating a global community by exchanging cultural experiences and learning from each other. The staff is truly dedicated and works diligently to support our partners where needed. They have helped build sustainable small businesses to bring in income for families, helped with teacher housing, brought the kids into the world of technology, and shared a multitude of skills with our partners. If ever there is a calling to support an organization that's making a difference, the Mwebaza foundation would be my recommendation. <br>

A Way Forward is a valuable resource in our local community. It offers support groups, classes, counseling, Intensive Out Patient programs- all at no cost to the clients. AWF is successful in helping people help themselves in dealing with overcoming substance abuse, PTSD, unhealthy relationships, grief, guilt and shame, anger issues, and more. AWF saves individual lives and heals broken families. It connects people with opportunities for housing, food, employment, mental health and rehabilitation facilities. AWF creates community where lifelong friendships are built. Our local communities are strengthened and become safer, thriving places for us all to live in, through the successful work of AWF. Rise Phoenix Rise has been a tremendous source of support for me for years. Traci has gone way out of her way to provide individualized supports such as one on one peer support for me. I also have benefited from several of the programs such as support groups both in person and via zoom. Her love of animals and appreciation of how valuable they are in our lives is truly inspiring. I highly recommend Rise Phoenix Rise to anyone needing support that loves animals.

Last summer I joined Wildlands Restoration Volunteers on the Arapahoe Pass trail clearing project. I spent two weekends hiking, camping, and cutting with vintage crosscut saws. What a blast! My inner lumberjack was thrilled and we successfully opened the trail after wind events made it impassable due to downed trees. This organization is incredibly effective and friendly. I love working with them.

Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center is amazing. What makes it so special is that each person, young and/or old receives a special program that is designed for them to achieve the highest level of growth. Whether they are learning to walk or struggling with emotional trauma, they focus on the desired outcome. There is such a connection that happens between not only their horse but also the volunteers and facilitators. Everyone is so passionate about their work. When our kids were between the ages of five and fifteen, we owned a home and everything was going along just fine, until I was injured and couldn't retain my line of work. I could no longer provide for my family. <br><br>I took a management position at a local McDonald’s but couldn’t make enough money to pay our bills and before we knew it we were losing everything...our home, car, and every sense of stability. We relied on family and friends for periods of time, but it was hard raising four kids in someone else’s house. Life felt super overwhelming.<br><br>Luckily, the St. Vrain Valley School District connected us to The Inn Between of Longmont and we moved into an affordable three-bedroom apartment. They helped us access classes to learn better money management and work to repair our credit.<br><br>Our family spent two years and three months living at The Inn until we could pay off a lot of our debt and significantly repair our credit. My wife's score increased by 200 points within a year and a half! We used The Inn’s Matched Savings fund to accumulate enough money to have a rental deposit to move into a apartment in the community. <br><br>A while after we moved out, I got a job as a maintenance technician and my wife for the school district. Three of the kids have graduated from high school and are working and attending community college. The “baby”, a freshman at Skyline High School, is a stellar softball player and will go to a college on an athletic scholarship! <br><br>The Inn Between helped us rebuild our financial well being. We’ve come a long way. It's been a hard road, but we were able to get back on our feet. The affordability of The Inn Between was definitely a big factor and their financial classes helped a lot. I can still go to them for guidance that helps us keep moving ahead. In a few months, we will be ready to buy a home again!”<br>

It has been great working with Parnell. There is still a substantial number of people around the world who are dependent on governments and different organization for their livelihoods. Parnell is among one of the few organizations that are helping those who are deprived of the basic needs. It has helped people who otherwise remain unnoticed and are reaching a significant number of people day by day to make their lives better and more prosperous. I have been looking for an organization through which I can make some genuine contribution and then I did thorough research and found about Parnell Intermediary Services Inc, which has guided me on the right path and through them, I have made a significant contribution. It is one of the best, most hardworking organizations I have ever witnessed. I have worked with several non-profit organizations but the level of dedication and commitment I have seen in Parnell is incomparable to any other organization. It is really doing great in the field and I hope to be a part of it in the future as well. I would like to thank all the team members who are serving day and night for the real cause and for making this world a better place.

Oweesta is truly an asset to the entire Native CDFI industry. Providing unprecedented access to capital, facilitating training events to build organizational capacity at every level, creating network opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be available; these are a few of the examples that make Oweesta the apex Native CDFI growth catalyst.

This is a lovey water way in the middle of our Centennial park that shares space with the public pool and three schools as well as the Youth Center. Until the last one and half years it has been a refreshing space to enjoy a wide variety of seasonal wild life and supports our ecosystem. Unfortunately the Parks and Rec. division has allowed the Frisbee games to destroy the area by damming it, breaking up the trees, in and out of the water that is posted to Stay out, degrading the embankment, and driving off all wild life. Now our community has lost a sacred space to learn appreciation of the Earth we live on. Very sad loss of space for reflection and observation.

An EXCELLENT Charity that rescues so many Animals that otherwise would likely die in disaster stricken areas. Am honored to be a regular donor to their cause. Most recently they were rescuing animals stranded in the Texas and Florida floods from the Hurricanes. Will continue to contribute as long as they keep doing their selfless work. Joseph F. Kasper MD

This "company" apparently purchased my private, unlisted information after filing a complaint about a neighbor's dog attacking me on my property, and they will likely sell it for $. I have called them to demand they remove my name from their mailing list....like I would sit and peacefully mediate with those scum.

The St. Vrain Historical Society is full of wonderful people that truly respect and love our local history. I truly enjoy volunteering at Old Mill Park helping with gardening also giving historical tours of it old cabins.

Last year I got connected with Andrew and Amethyst Roth of Global Outreach Foundation Congo. Their vision inspired me to try to visit them. They welcomed me into their home for 10 days, giving me an opportunity to learn much about the implementation of their vision, the challenges and victories, the people they partner with at a very personal level, etcetera. I respect their drive to see deep and lasting change in the lives of people that goes further than short-term projects and gives them hope for a different future for Congo. <br>With a relatively small budget they are able to set in motion what many bigger organizations are not achieving. They are responsible and willing to keep learning better ways to serve and empower the Congolese. Overall I definitely recommend partnering with this organization.

This group is an excellent watchdog for our local police and international police. I was told about this group by a friend of mine that is a US Marshall. There is too much corruption in our communities and the victims are not reporting the issues to the proper authorities. There is health care violations from Nursing homes, who violate every county, state and federal law. The Vanessa Kachadurian Fund, has donated to the local watchdog group and the police have been very cooperative and understand that mistakes happen and the real victims are the people in nursing homes. The District Attorney's office is also very helpful in stopping elder abuse for profit. Don't be afraid to raise a fit, because the squeeky wheel will get the oil and the public agencies that fund these people will hold them accountable with audits, fines and sanctions. Thanks so much for the local criminal attorneys that hold our laws accountable and protect the victims.

Vinelife has been more than just friends to me, they've been a family as well. I've grown and changed in incredible ways since I first showed up here. It is a vibrant community of passionate, funny, caring and down to earth folks.
