I have been volunteering at Camp Patriot for about four years. I am very impressed by the hearts of the Clark family and Dave as they work to meet the challenges of running a non-profit and managing a 100 acre ranch in the remoteness of Yaak, Montana. I have had the opportunity to see behind the scenes and am amazed by their resilience and devotion to their calling to serve US disabled veterans. <br><br>I have volunteered on many veteran trips including snow mobile adventures, fishing trips, ATVing, and many more. Not only do Micah and Dave professionally run these amazing experiences for our vets, but upon return to the ranch, the vets are treated to gourmet meals and often times live music. <br><br>As wonderful as these experiences are, they are not the most important benefit for the vets that I have observed. I have witnessed vets in tears as they described the feelings of camaraderie and belonging that they experienced at the ranch after not having felt that since leaving the military. Spending time with others who understand what they have been through with their military service and resulting disabilities in the supportive and beautiful environment of the Camp Patriot ranch can be a life changing experience.
