I have lived with Ankylosing Spondylitis most of my life. I admit that until recently, I really did not understand my disease. I’m still learning. Knowledge is power. The SAA Website is a wealth of information and has been key to my learning about Ankylosing Spondylitis. Within the website, I would highly recommend the SSA Storytellers. I found these stories to be encouraging, Informative, and personal. I was able to identify with parts of each story and I didn’t feel alone in my diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis. Jewish World Watch is doing a great job educating and raising money for the public about the crisis in Sudan and Darfur. I attended their walks several times and also some meetings and functions. They have sent representatives to that region to educate the public on what is happening there. I was horrified at the brutality of the government in it's treatment especially of women. They have raised my consciousness as to the plight of these civilians.

ROMAH Foundation is truly the body of Christ working to meet the needs of communities that are struggling. As a supporter of this organization, I can truly say that God's work is being done and I know that our donations are going into the right hands. We will continue to support ROMAH's missions as God continues to affirm that our givings are reaching those who need it. Thank you ROMAH and Ruth Ann for doing an AMAZING job! I have been fortunate enough to work with Dr. Lonnie Zeltzer and the CHYP community for the last five years. I am constantly inspired by Dr. Zeltzer's commitment to helping treat youth who have struggled for years with chronic pain. The organization is growing every year, reaching more and more kids and young adults who have suffered and haven't been able to find relief anywhere else. CHYP not only offers creative ways to manage pain, but also helps build community for the youth who are in need, as well as the caregivers who desperately want to help them.

Family First is the heart of all non-profits. This organization provides endless opportunities for today’s youth in various sectors. My middle school children had the honor of participating in a financial literacy camp during the summer. These life skills are normally taught in college, Family First understands the importance of early preparation for a successful future. This is just one impactful example of the extraordinary work these angels offer for our youth. Big THANK YOU!!!

SEL4CA has sponsored CNUSD's SELday for a few years now. We have over 50,000 students in CNUSD and our teachers and students appreciate the celebrations that SEL4CA has made possible. Many of our certificated and classified staff have joined SEL4CA and thoroughly enjoy the free newsletter and resources provided on their website.

SFHSC provides an extremely unique service to the homeless services community. They deliver food and clothing!! We have received tons of donated goods through SFHSC. Thanks.

You are absolutely correct that one should not look forward to a response. Maybe if a donation came with it? I am fostering an 8-yr-old Min Pinscher for 5 months from another rescue. Since Maytes' passion is to save dogs, and elderly ones, at that, I emailed Maytes twice telling about Astro, with picture, that perhaps she will put him on her website for greater coverage for adoption. My contact info was included. No response! I guess she's not passionate about placing all dogs. Sadly, we animal care-givers and advocates cannot go forward together. I need to consider that I credited a rescue and got less than expected..

15 years ago, I was devastated when I lost my precious kitty, Oopie, who had been my best friend for 17 of the best years of my life. A year later, a friend told me that there was a veterinary clinic in her neighborhood where they rescued cats who were reaching the end of their time in shelters and were going to be euthanized. She said she often took her children to play with the kitties, and had found one she thought would be perfect for me, if I was ready. I wasn't, not really, but I didn't want to be rude and was touched by her thoughtfulness, so I decided just to go meet the kitty but not adopt.<br><br>However, how do you walk in to a shelter and just walk out empty-handed? For me it wasn't possible, so, reluctantly, I said, fine, I'll take him. But the people running the shelter were dismayed. "You would take him without his brother?! Just look how bonded they are!!" They guilted me into taking the brother too. Then, I discovered a "secret" room where some brand new kittens were kept. There were about 10 of them piled in an armchair, all about the size of cotton balls. I had never seen anything sweeter or cuter in all my life! I just absolutely had to have one, and it was agony picking just one, but somehow I pulled it off. So, instead of walking out with no cats, as I had intended, I walked out with 3!!!<br><br>Cat Connection neutered them when they were ready, at no cost to me. They all developed diarrhea and, again, they gave me meds at no charge. One of them developed a scary illness which they treated also for no charge. Then, 2 months later, the hottest day ever on record (113 degrees). I woke up that day in a sweat because the AC in my building had stopped working. In a panic, I called Cat Connection to see if I could bring my kitties there until the AC was fixed, and they again did not charge me but allowed me to bring all 3 back to them to board. The AC was not fixed until the night, and I was so paranoid that it would go out again that I asked for the kitties to stay another day, which again was allowed.<br><br>In the 14 ensuing years, these 3 cats (Eensy, Beensy, and Teensy) have been the lights of my life. They are the best cats ever! They never bite or scratch, they all sleep with me without ever disturbing me, and they are so adorable and sweet, in particular Teensy, who was the last one I chose from that armchair of powder puffs. He still thinks he's that kitten of several weeks, while the others behave like the sedate middle-aged gentlemen they are. All 4 of us moved back to my native Croatia several months ago and, although the move itself was extremely challenging, to say the least, we are all so happy here living on a magical Adriatic island. Life here is wonderful, but without them, it would be so much poorer. Thank you so very much to Adrienne and Cat Connection for being the source of so much happiness for all of us. And keep up the GREAT work!!

The only good thing to say is these people rescue dogs other than that they are enept , rude , liars, brash the negative descriptions go on. Their animals are sick and not properly cared for .

Silhouettes For Vets, Mark Brenner and his staff came at just the right time. They were instrumental in keeping me focused and motivated in my search for employment. The commitment to veterans is exemplary. In addition to all of the efforts Mark also pointed me in the direction of LA Fellows. LA Fellows is a free program / class that is conducted at LA Valley College also in the business of getting folks back into the ranks of the employed. I have now been back to work for approximately one year. I am ever grateful for the key role Silhouettes For Vets played in getting me back in the game. - Semper Fi -<br>

The Late Onset Tay-Sachs charity is an underexposed, yet crucial organization focusing on finding treatments, cures and providing information on genetic diseases. It is built on love and pure dedication in the fight against this debilitating disease and those affected. L.O.T.S. organization is working hard to fund research and clinical trials so we can one day (in the near future) get through the blood brain barrier and find ways to regenerate enzymes for all those that suffer from genetic diseases. There are hundreds of different diseases that will benefit from this medical technology. L.O.T.S. puts on an annual fundraiser with speakers, an amazing silent auction, raffle and brunch to raise money to educate our community and support this significant cause. I am proud to be part of such a noble and significant effort and love that 100% of the proceeds go directly to the cause. This research not only effects those suffering presently, but our future generations. It's work is extraordinary.

we sent $250(which has been cashed) on November 2 2021 to pay for a brick on the "Pathway to Victory" Memorial in Normandy France. As we have not heard anything in reply after numerous phone calls and emails we can only assume this is not an honest charity . Will file a complaint with the IRS

Fit 4 The Cause is an entrepreneurial non-profit start up providing fitness training and nutrition education for low-income communities. After only three years of IRS determination, we now serve 1500 beneficiaries including fragile seniors, at-risk teens and vulnerable children. Our fastest growing demographic is the children attending public schools in Ventura County’s poorest districts. Surveys from parents, teachers and principals demonstrate 100% improvement in academic performance, attendance and attitude after our first semester of serving our community’s children through our proprietary dance oriented physical fitness curriculum.

The Pacoima AND Sherman Oaks Economic Development Center advisers are the most UNHELPFUL women ever. The place was empty (I wonder why). The Lazy City Workers/staff members made it so obvious that they were trying to get rid of us (especially at Pacoima). The center at Pacoima is a DISGRACE. They are supposedly there to "help the community" but they could care less. Such a SHAME. I called Sherman Oaks center and every time I call everyone is "out to lunch" or "away from their desk"....These centers are a DISGRACE. They need to take down the fake pictures on their website of them actually helping community members. Honestly that's not whats going on.

I was very impressed by this group's professional and organizational performance. They are totally committed individuals with such a balanced and harmonious working environment. It was a true pleasure to know that such an outstanding organization exists for the benifit of our community and our youngster. Keep up the oustanding work.
