Reef Guardians does so many amazing things, and our particular experience with them has been for my eldest son, Oscar, who has done 2 consecutive summer Reef Camps with them. He is now signed up to do a third year with them, and since this year finances were tight we were not going to be able to send him, but by chance I was able to speak with the organizer and she offered us a scholarship for this summer. Oscar absolutely fell in love with Reef Camp, and was so excited by all of the sea creatures he could witness, including an octopus! The camp is structured in such a way that it is both hands on and educational, and the kids have exercises to do, and get to share their experience in front of the group. When I told him that I ran into "Ms. Mermaid" the other day, he immediately knew who she was and is very excited to be attending again. I would recommend this camp to all kids, and when my younger son is old enough next year we will definitely be signing him up too! Amazing community!

Amazing customer service, timely project delivery and feedback

Show Mercy and the people of Uganda never fails to leave an impact on your heart. This is my second time in Uganda with Show Mercy, and I always feel like I leave with my cup more full than when I came. The people of Uganda and the staff are so full of joy, compassion, and fire for Jesus. The staff led us so well. They pushed us to step out of our comfort zones, and were there to be guides through every outreach. I am so so so thankful for every opportunity I have had to be able to serve here, and I can’t wait for the next trip!

Our organization, the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), has had the opportunity to partner with the Pacific Institute on multiple projects that generate cutting-edge research and provide actionable insights regarding key topics in the water conservation and efficiency field. Most recently, AWE has partnered with Pacific Institute on two Water Research Foundation projects: Project 5327 (Utility Business Models for Managing Water Demand Reduction) and Project 5335 (Per Capita Water Use Calculation). Pacific Institute staff are knowledgeable, collaborative, and committed to finding creative solutions to further the adoption of water conservation and efficiency among water utilities across climates and geographies. We have enjoyed working with Pacific Institute and hope to continue our partnership on future projects.

My journey with Well Aware began as a donor and gala attendee, where I was immediately moved by their mission to provide clean water through community empowerment. After becoming a Village Member and recurring donor, I was so inspired by their model of community resilience that I joined the Board of Directors. As someone who truly believes that clean water is a basic human right, I can say that Well Aware’s approach to solving the water crisis is the most effective and sustainable I’ve seen. They operate with high integrity, and seeing the direct correlation between their work and the empowerment of thousands of people is incredibly rewarding.

I participated as a volunteer in the Winter Salt Snapshot hosted by Stroud along with nine other colleagues. Working with the scientists at Stroud was impactful and a meaningful experience and provided us with a great learning opportunity. As a fellow scientist who has a fair amount of knowledge of winter time salt use, Stroud created a wonderful community sampling event that was easy for myself and my colleagues to get involved with, regardless of our experience. The researchers at Stroud were very communicative and explained the instructions clearly. The snapshot project is an amazing idea on how to collect a lot of data and implement a volunteer/citizen science project across the region, while still feeling inviting and approachable.

I am an intern at Rainforest Partnership and I feel so excited for this opportunity to be part of such a wonderful organization that works for the sake of this planet. The mission of Rainforest partnership aligns with my own values to be part of protecting rainforests, as well as supporting Indigenous peoples and communities. I feel welcomed and supported being part of this project, I’m learning a lot. I am looking forward to being part of and helping with the biggest initiative of this year!

Farmer Engagement & Capacity Building at Sondardi Village: We had a productive interaction with 40 farmers from Sondardi, focusing on collective learning and practical solutions for sustainable agriculture. Conducted a group discussion on Farmer-Producer Organisation and its roles, benefits, and activities. Performed soil testing using a rapid test kit for one farmer, covering 5 essential soil nutrients. Three coconut farmers were advised on whitefly pest management using a 15-litre \Pump to spray shampoo, washing powder, and cow urine. 25 farmers received Dashparni Ark and Agni Astra (1 litre each) for demonstration purposes through the Natural Input Centre. 35 farmers visited the Input Centre to understand the preparation and use of natural inputs. Discussed biochar demonstration, with plans to set up a live demo at a farmer’s field very soon. Such initiatives strengthen farmers’ knowledge, encourage sustainable practices, and move us closer o resilient and eco-friendly agriculture.

I was involved with WWFA very early on and went to Malawi and saw the incredible joy that a well brings to a village. WWFA volunteers train to be culturally correct and the system of developing a water committee for each well gives the village an ongoing role , plus the backup done in following years, ensures that the wells continue to operate. This is a nonprofit that works with little overhead - an enormous amount of work is done by volunteers. Through the blessings of God, they have expanded their services to include enhancing school education and health and hygiene. My donations, with others, have been wonderfully multiplied. I highly commend WWFA for all they do!

I’ve been a volunteer with Veterans Without Orders for nine years, and the impact this organization has had on me—both as a veteran and as a person—has been immeasurable. VWO has given me a way to stay connected to a community I deeply value while continuing to contribute to a mission greater than myself. Serving alongside other veterans has reminded me of the purpose, camaraderie, and sense of service that defined my time in uniform. And witnessing the impact firsthand—on the veterans who find renewed meaning through these missions and on the communities we serve—has been incredibly rewarding. From WASH programs to disaster response efforts, the work VWO leads is not only effective but deeply human. Volunteering with this team has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my post-military life, and I’m proud to continue supporting their mission year after year.

The Water Project is a wonderful humanitarian organization that I'm proud to partner with. Access to clean water is one of the most basic necessities of life and we often take for granted how easy it is for us to just turn on a tap. The work of this organization is truly transforming lives by providing access to clean water and improving the health and well-being of thousands. I enjoyed being able to contribute to a specific water project and receive updates and pictures on how my contribution was making a difference. The best part of all though, was seeing the smiles on people's faces in villages where new wells were installed. This gift of clean water has brought renewed hope to so many communities and I'm grateful to be able to support this impactful work.

I have volunteered many times at beach clean ups in Chicago, Indiana, and Michigan. My experience with the Alliance has always been very positive. Everyone is very professional, friendly, and informative as well! I love volunteering with an organization with such a great mission that also aligns with my love of the Great Lakes!

My experience with Para La Tierra was as an intern, doing an independent research project into the local herpetofuana. It was an amazing experience that they facilitated, and they made my 3 month stay in Paraguay an unforgettable period of my life. I highly respect the people who run this small NGO, they are truly passionate and knowledgeable people that work very hard to improve the conservation situation in Paraguay as well as the lives of those living in impoverished communities. The work they do is very important in a country where not much attention is being paid to the environmental destruction, as they do lots of community outreach and education. They take a holistic approach to conservation, and they recognize helping communities find a new way of life can both help restore the environment lift them out of poverty. Despite monumental obstacles to creating lasting change, they have persevered. Not many people could do what they do, so they deserve recognition and support.

I donated because our Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church , in Hampton, Virginia, has partnered up with the CBF to help get the cinder blocks and the oysters (at low tide) along the Hampton River. I understand we our donating money will help to buy more of the sea grass plants that will be planted, to help keep the shore line from eroding. They have deep roots when full grown. Hoping this donation will help to purchase more. I am sure there are more ways that may be done near where you live. We live in Hampton, we support our Hampton Community.!! It is a real way to help with the flooding prone to our areas.
